The Birch shells make the toms project very clearly and focused, and the same goes for the bass drum. The inner basswood ply also provides a nice grain finish. The snare drum is simply incredible. The export snare or any other intermediate snare for that matter, cannot compare to this snare! There is a nice crack that cuts through everything The die cast rims make the snare have very sharp rim-clicks, and provide for a more consistent tuning on all heads. The Omni-Mount tom holders let you position the toms in virtually any position possible, and the Star-Cast mounting system wraps around the toms more than other suspension systems to provide a better hold. Overall, this is an incredible set for its level, and it even goes beyond into offering many features of pro level kits. Right out of the box with the stock heads this set sounds great, so once its fine tuned to your liking, you'll be completely satisfied! Here are some pics-
